Short Spring Makeup Tutorial & Maybelline Product Review! πŸ’›πŸ’πŸ’›

Hi Babes! I’m back today with some spring-spiration! πŸ’•πŸŒ·πŸ’• I haven’t done a makeup tutorial for a while and I thought, what a better way to come back with a great makeup look but for the new spring season! 😁 Let’s get right into shall we???

So I was sitting here thinking of colors I associated with spring, first and almost instantly “pastel” came to mind. But I continued to simmer on the idea and I just wasn’t satisfied with pastels right now, I wanted something bolder. Something that could be worn out to a nice dinner date and you look fabulously spring-y but also suave and sexy. Then, I began thinking neutral with a POP of spring color! 😁 So I ultimately decided on a chocolate brown cut crease look, with a vibrant turquoise winged liner to go with it. Please continue reading if you’d like to see what products I used and pictures of my the look I created! πŸ’–

Here are the products I used to create this look!

*Benefit “Big Beautiful Eyes” Eye Contour Palette (Dark brown shadow)

*Colourpop Super Shock Shadow in “Ibiza.” (Used as eyeliner)

*Maybelline Lash Sensational Mascara

*Maybelline Master Contour Kit

*Pixi by Petra Beauty Blush Duo in “Rose Gold.”

*Milani “Bahama Beige” Lip Stick

*FLOWER Beauty About Face Liquid Foundation

*Salon Perfect Half-Falsies (Not in photo)

*OFRA Eyebrow Pencil in Brown (Not in photo)

*MAC Mineralize Concealer (Not in photo)

*L’Oreal Infallible 16 HR Pro Matte Powder Foundation (Not in photo)

Now I just wanted to quickly review the Maybelline products for you!

Maybelline The Master Contour Kit
: When I first saw this in my local Walmart I was eager to try it out. Unfortunately, I didn’t so much like the highlight or contour shades. The contour was much too light for my olive complexion, and the highlight was so-so. I have much better quality highlighters by MAC, Pixi and Wet n’ Wild. The one thing I really loved about this palette, was the blush! It is such a beautiful, healthy/natural glow type pink. Like you just got done working out or something, so pretty 😍 I recommend this for the blush. But the contour and highlight might work better for you if you are very fair skinned.

Maybelline Lash Sensational Mascara: This stuff is black gold! πŸ’– I have been in search of an affordable mascara that separates and lifts my lashes towards the sky 🌞 This one does just that. Maybelline is funny, they come out with TONS of different mascaras. We’re always seeing new commercials with supermodel’s with the best looking lashes, and I’ll go out and try all of these mascaras & I’ll hardly like any of them. But finally, one has lived up to it’s claims! πŸ’œ Highly recommend! No need for expensive mascaras when this one exists 😁

Anyways, Thanks so much for reading babes! Please leave your comments and thoughts for me ❀️ xoxo

Fabulous Fall Versatile Makeup Look! L’Oreal NUDES 1 Palette!

Hi lovely ladies! Just wanted to start off by saying if i accidently unfollow and re-follow any of you beauties, it is a total accident and it has become a very frustrating issue for me! 😦 I really don’t want any of you to think it is intentional, i do all of this on a smart phone so if i’m scrolling through your names and i happen to just tag the “follow” button it will un-follow you, but i try to fix it asap 😦 ❀ So my apologies for that girls! Anywhoo, i did another dress it up/dress it down look for you all today! It is inspired by the wonderful Autumn, and all things cozy. This will actually be a half fashion/outfits post and the versatile makeup look to go with it πŸ™‚ I know i have lots of fashionista’s follwowing me and vice versa, so i’m sure this will be fun for everyone! ❀

Let’s start with the makeup look and products i used!

image

Β image

(Dramatic look shown above, used a darker blush and lip color and pulled my hair to the side in a loose messy bun with a flower pinned into it)image

image

(Much softer look with lighter lipstick and blush and hair let down naturally)

What i used:

image

image

  • Mally Base Shadow/Primer
  • SMASHBOX Color Boosting Powder “Halo Glow” (for bronzing)
  • MAC Mineralize Concealer NC20
  • MAC Moisture SPF Foundation
  • MAC Strobe Liquid
  • MAC “Pinch Me” Blush (not shown above, dramatic look)
  • MAC “Well Dressed” Blush (not shown above, simple & sweet look)

image

This is the L’Oreal LA Palette NUDE 1, and i used the four shades that are being pointed to with brushes! πŸ™‚ I used the first shade in my inner corner and first half of my lid, then i used the second color on the other half of my lid. The next color was used on my outer V areas, and the last color was used/overlapped in the same are but blended out nice & thoroughly. I love this palette and there are just so many beautiful colors you can use everyday or turn them into something special for an event! For the price you should absolutely have this in your collection! πŸ™‚ Blendable, silky & pigmented.

image

  • HIKARI Lip Gloss in “Merlot”
  • MILANI Lipstick in “Sangria”
  • Almay Liquid Black Eyeliner
  • BareMinerals Original Foundation “Med Beige”
  • MAC “Angel” Lipstick (not shown above, simple & sweet look)

Here is what i came up with…

Here are all of the products i used for each look, i will let you know what the differences are:

image

  • Milani Baked Powder Blush in “Luminoso” (everyday look)
  • MAC Sheer Tone Blush in “Pinch Me” (dramatic look)
  • FLOWER Luxury Lip Color in “Cactus Flower” (dramatic look)
  • EstΓ©e Lauder Bronzer in “Bronze Goddess” (both)
  • MAC Mineralize Moisture SPF 15 Foundation (both)
  • MAC Mineralize Concealer (both)
  • bareMinerals Loose Eyeshadow in “Chenille” (both)
  • Infallible Pro-Matte Foundation (both)
  • SMASHBOX “Photo Finish” Face Primer (both)
  • Hard Candy MOD Quad Baked Eyeshadow Palette in “Pink Interlude” Shade 2. (both)

Maybelline Blushed Nudes Night Out Makeup Look!

I got a request the other day from someone saying they wished i would have done some looks with that Maybelline Blushed Nudes palette review i posted recently, so i thought that was a great idea and i should definitley at least post one look with this palette. Here’s what i came up with!

image

image

Sort of a pink, rosey smokey eye. I always start my eyeshadow routine with my MALLY base shadow. It is so creamy, doesn’t crease at all and makes the shadow stick to your lids perfectly for HOURS! One of my personal favorites.

imageimage

The base shadow is the pan to the left. It works very well as a primer but any eyelid primer will work just fine.

❀

Let me show you how a base shadow works for those who aren’t familiar:

image

(The brown shadow shown here is NOT used in this look, it is achieved using only the colors from the blushed nudes palette. This is just used Β as an example)

Above are the two shadows in the MALLYΒ palette swatched separately. As you can see, the brown eye shadow is somewhat transparent, it doesn’t look nearly as dark as the color in the actual pan. The base shadow is neutral in color, bright & creamy. Now, let me show you the brown shadow OVER the creamy base shadow.

image

Retail price for JUST the creamy base shadow: $18.00 USD

Purchase it here!

Now that the brown shadow has been applied over the base, it has much better color pay off and it is noticeably darker than the last swatch.

Back to the look: Here are the colors i used from the Maybelline Blushed Nudes Palette

image

In this order i began to apply:

  1. I pretty much just cut my crease with this color and then blended it out so it wasn’t such a harsh line.
  2. I packed this onto my lid, and blended it in with the color i used in my crease.
  3. Traced my outer V with this black color and blended it out, also used on my bottom lash line.
  4. Applied this to my inner corner, and below Β near my inner corner on my lower lash line. Blend blend blend!

You can really achieve some beautiful romantic eyes with this palette. I’ve been loving it so far and here you can see the gorgeous colors in action! You could also go the opposite route and do something with the lighter colors in the palette for more of a daytime look. If you’d like me to do a daytime look for you just leave a comment!
